The Clean Air Center Program provides funding for county agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area to create a network of clean air centers to mitigate the adverse public health impacts due to wildfires and other smoke events.
Supported by Assembly Bill 836: Wildfire Smoke Clean Air Center Incentive Program for Vulnerable Populations (Wicks, Chapter 393, Statutes of 2019), the program is a statewide initiative to establish a network of publicly accessible facilities with high-efficiency air filtration systems for people who may not otherwise have access to clean air during wildfire events.
You can help identify locations for Clean Air Centers that would best serve your community during a wildfire or other smoke event by placing pin drops on the Community Identified Clean Air Centers map.
If you are interested in participating in the Clean Air Center program, please reach out to your County representative for further information.
