Register Equipment

Register your EPA-certified or pellet-fueled wood-burning device for a sole source of heat exemption, or register qualifying small sources of air pollution for permission to operate through Air District registration programs.

Exempt Wood Stove Registration

Effective November 1, 2016, for anyone claiming an exemption from Winter Spare the Air Alert burn bans because his or her sole source of heat is a wood-burning device, Air District regulations require that this device be EPA-certified or pellet-fueled and that it be registered with the Air District.

Small Source Equipment Registrations

The Air District allows qualifying small sources of air pollution to obtain permission to operate through a registration program instead of the regular Authority to Construct/Permit to Operate process.  After receiving the Certificate of Registration, the owner/operator can operate the registered equipment during the registration period.  The owner/operator should review the Terms and Conditions on the certificate to ensure compliance with all requirements.

New Online System

Owners or operators of the following types of equipment may be eligible to register new equipment or renew existing permits through the new Online Permitting System:

Online Permitting System
Eligible facilities can login to apply for new registrations and renewals on the Air District's online permitting system web page.

SYSTEM DOWN FOR AGRICULTURAL ENGINE REGISTRATIONS

New agricultural diesel engines may be installed and operated provided that you:

  1. Notify us at so that we can contact you when the new system is ready to use; AND
  2. Register the equipment no later than 60 days after you have been invited to use the new system.

Existing agricultural diesel engines may continue to operate without enforcement action provided that, when you are notified that the new system is ready to use, you:

  • Renew your registration within 60 days from renewal invoice due date. Note: Late fees still apply if you pay your renewal invoice after the due date.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
