Idle Free Bay Area

The Contra Costa County Resource Team is part of the Idle Free Bay Area program, educating parents and community members about a simple way to save money, save gas, and reduce air pollution while waiting to pick someone up.

Please consider taking the Idle Free Pledge

  • Schools and youth groups have participated throughout the county.

The Team may provide bookmarks, pledge forms, and brief presentations for groups. If your school or organization would like to become involved, please contact at 510-246-8840 ext. 301 for information on resources that might be available. 

Transit and Trails

The Team  has an ongoing project with to encourage local community groups to use the website to plan trips to the great outdoors using public transit. 

  • Senior and youth groups are particularly encouraged to participate
