The Bay Area Air Quality Management District would like to thank all of the Bay Area employers - and each individual racer - who participated in the Great Race for Clean Air. The District commends all participants for trying a cleaner, greener alternative to commuting alone in September and October of 2012.
Sponsored by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and 511, the Great Race for Clean Air is a friendly competition between Bay Area employers to encourage their employees' use of commute alternatives such as transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, and bicycling rather than driving solo to work.
Together, participants saved over 674 tons of CO2 in 2012!
